During the week end of the 3rd and 4th of May 2008, one of our correspondants, Alexis Shelton, was in Les Diablerets for the last riding day on the glacier. He was shooting mostly with two of our riders, Yannick Nicolet & Damien Gavillet, but not just them. As the snow was melting very quickly the riders decided to concentrate mostly on the jib zone rather than the kickers line. However, we have a few pictures for you.

On the 27th of april, Washaw's Crew has organized a Spring Photosession in the ski resort of La Dôle, which is based in the Jura mountains. Helped by the local autorithies, Washaw's Team has been able to build a large kicker of 7m long and wide of 3m, with a huge flat of 15m, and to finish, everything was completed with a set of rails, a flat-down rail cutting the kickers. Of course, at end of April, the ski resort is closed, and everybody needed to climb the few meters by feet to access this very providential spot...

This first edition of an event which should be reasigned next year was a great success, even if all the riders contacted were not there. However, all the riders which came, and thanks to them, had all a great fun and a nice photoshooting session.

On the 12th of April was organized the last snow session in Orgevaux Snowpark, near les Avants which is an old ski resorts on the upper mountains of Montreux. The aim of the day was juste to chill, to have a nice session on a musical background powered by a live DJ, mixing skiing and snowboarding. Hosted by Orgiride Association, the same quys which did the Montreux Jib Festival, this day was a great opportunity for all the riders which fell in love with the moduls of the Montreux Jib Festival, to be able to ride them once more this season, just before the closing, and the end of the winter season.

On the 6th of April, Oliver and Alexis went to the Col du Pillon, to shoot one of the Washaw riders, Yannick Nicolet. Following an information from him, a massive road gap should be “shootable” just in this area, where Yannick has build a huge kicker the week before.

When we arrived, the recent snowfall had just covered the kickers such as the speed run, so it was urgent to reshape all of it, before Yannick could event drop his first runs. Once it was done, he made to un-concluant attempt, and nearly broke his back on one of them, so we decided to stop there, and go and chillout in the proximity forest.

On the 8th of March, we participated to a new event/competition, the ISBC Shoot'Em. It was an amateur photography contest were several teams have met together and shooted all day on the full skiing domain of Villars - Les Diablerets, in order to give at the end of the day 3 pictures in 3 different categories; Park, Backcountry & Lifestyle.
